About

A society of the red letters.

A collective of worship leaders across Virginia — writing and resourcing the local church with theologically sound, congregationally engaging worship since 2016.

The name

Old Bibles print the words of Jesus in red.

Flip one open and you can find His voice at a glance — red letters in a sea of black ink. That is the whole idea of this collective: keep His words easy to find. See the beauty of God for what it is. Sing it with His people. Say what is true until it shapes you.

We are not a touring act with a hometown listed somewhere in the fine print. Most of us lead worship at local churches week in, week out — the songs are written from inside that life, for congregations like ours, and then given back to the church.

The mission

To see the beauty of God — and express it beautifully.

We exist to put the truths of God in the mouths of His people, shaping worshipers who see, sing, and say what is true.

The people

Less a band. More a table.

Writers, leaders, and players from churches across Virginia — some of us serve full-time on church staff, all of us keep coming back to the same table to write what our congregations need to sing.

What we believe

Where we stand.

Worship that lasts has to be anchored. The short version is below — and if you want the long version, or want to push back on any of it, we genuinely love that conversation.

The Bible

We believe the Bible is the Word of God — true, trustworthy, and sufficient. It is the test every lyric we write has to pass before a congregation ever sings it.

God

We believe in one God in three persons — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — the maker of all things, worthy of all worship. Beholding His beauty is where every song starts.

The Gospel

We believe Jesus Christ, fully God and fully man, lived the life we could not live, died the death we deserved, and rose bodily from the grave. Salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. These are the truths we want in your mouth.

The Church

We believe the local church is God’s plan A — there is no plan B. We exist to serve her, not to replace her: our songs are written for congregations, our resources are free or near it, and our calendar bends around our own churches first.

Worship

We believe singing is formation: what the church sings, she comes to believe. So lyrics carry weight. We would rather write one line that is true than ten that are merely catchy.
